Fairfield Inn By Marriott Charleston

I was overall happy with my stay. Housekeeping did a nice job. All employees were polite and helpful.

Great location! Room was big and very clean. A mint on the pillow would have been a nice thought. Complimentary breakfast a big PLUS!

The hotel was in a decent location. Ample free parking. The hotel size was great, the room size was great, but the pool was very small as was the workout room. The continental breakfast was nice, had a lot of great choices. The front desk check in staff was rude. Upon check in I had asked to switch from a king size bed to two double beds and the woman rolled her eyes at me, like I was inconveniencing her. I also asked for a map of the area restaurants and she just handed me a paper that had restaurant names on them, no locations or directions. This was the same list that was in the guest book in the room. She didn't make any recommendations. Also the cleaning staff comes very early in the morning. Overall, the hotel was relatively clean but it's an older hotel that's been remodeled. The elevators were very very small and pretty slow. The staff was ok but not overly helpful or considerate. I would not recommend this hotel. The bathroom toilet was not clean, the shower curtain and tub had mold growing, and some of the towels had a bluish tinge, not white. At 7pm on a Tuesday there were no restaurants open. Finally found a pizza place. The pool was not open. ...read more

Staff is very efficient and helpful. Rooms attractive and clean. No problems with wirelss access.
